Nancy E. Cook
Project Manager
Nancy Cook joins WASHBURN & McGOLDRICK as a Project Manager after more than three decades in national nonprofit leadership positions.
Nancy has worked with the Navy SEAL Foundation as Director of Teams, where she directed peer-to-peer fundraising efforts and launched the TEAMWORK Fitness Challenge in Imperial Beach, California. Her prior work includes volunteer engagement, corporate philanthropy, and peer-to-peer fundraising with the American Cancer Society for more than 24 years. She initiated, directed, and grew the Relay For Life National Corporate Team program from four to more than 60 companies, raising more than $20 million each year through peer-to-peer fundraising. Since leaving the Society, she has worked as a consultant for several nonprofits, including the Arthritis Foundation and the Massachusetts Academy of General Dentistry Foundation.
Nancy currently serves as a board member of the Western Mass Distance Project. She is an active Toastmaster, having served in various leadership roles. She transformed her Tall Tales contest speech into a best-selling children’s book, Skiing Is Believing, about teaching self-confidence to children through sport.
Nancy is a coach and avid multisport athlete, marathon runner, and four-time Ironman triathlete. She is currently an American record holder in the marathon for the indoor rower and a gold, silver and bronze medalist in the 2023 World Indoor Rowing Championships. Nancy is a PSIA Level 3 professional ski instructor for the past 25 years, currently teaching at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont. She earned her Bachelor of Science in physical education from Castleton State College, where she played basketball and field hockey and sang in the college choir. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her family and two Labrador retrievers.
